F.E.A.R on Xbox 360 was and is a great game, and when ported onto PS3 what we get is a similar treat for all FPS fans. The hugely atmospheric ambience of the game captured the hearts of players globally when first released in 2005 on PC format. But what does this popular game bring us on the PS3? A new weapon has been introduced for PS3 users in the way of a rapid firing shotgun and a new story line level as told through the eyes of one of the Delta Squad members.
If the reader has never played F.E.A.R before on any other platform then we highly recommend it for the sheer guts and glory mayhem, if you have played it on the Xbox 360 then you may be disappointed, not because it is any less good a game but purely because it is very similar to the Xbox 360 version. For new gamers this is a must have for your collection when it is released in April, a whole four days before it will be released in the US.
F.E.A.R does not support 1080p so you may feel the visuals are not up to the same standard as some of the other new titles emerging this fall, but the creepiness and game play will make up for this. For those that need an instant fix there has been an instant action feature built in, which literally drops the player into the middle of battle with scant regard for storyline. Multiplayer modes includes the usual last man standing, capture the flag and death match to name a few.
