What’s in store for Veteran Sam Fisher?

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell – Double Agent is the fourth edition in the compelling Splinter Cell action series. Developed and published by Ubisoft.  The PS3 version is due to hit the shop floors 30th March 2007.

This action packed series, which was the creation of the American author Tom Clancy, takes us on a unique journey along with character Sam Fisher – a “Splinter Cell” who has been employed by a sector in the National Security Agency, known as Third Echelon. , he has never encountered an enemy like this before. To put a stop to a terrifying terrorist attack, he must succeed in becoming ‘at one’ with a terrorist organization and destroy it from within. Experience the never-ending tension and heart-stopping dilemmas that are faced in life as a double agent. You must also carefully gage the consequences of your actions, kill too many criminals and you are taking the risk of blowing your cover, but if you hesitate for too long millions of innocent people are going to die.

The multiplayer features a new style of game-play, plus two extra maps that means new environments to explore and a whole new array of challenges. The players have to choose between two sides either The Third Echelon Spies or Mercenaries of Upsilon Force. The choice of side will have an effect on the player’s mission objectives, the equipment and of course the overall play style. The Spies are extremely quick and agile compared to the mercenaries, they also have a variety of almost superhuman moves; this allows them to negotiate the map areas that their opponents’ have no means of reaching on foot.

The new game-play, has not come at the expense of the graphics. Everything about the game has been paid with the upmost attention to detail, this is something the player will notice as soon as they load the game. The characters movements are very sleek and fluid, therefore making it all very realistic and life-like and a pleasure to watch on screen. The sound too is great, with actors doing the voice-overs; all the voices fit so well with the characters and this brings them all to life. Another great feature is the music, it fits every situation that the player might face, thus-for making it seem rather real.
