The Zodiac needs more games like Zodtris. Small, simple and free games which you can pick up and play wherever you happen to be.
Tetris was conceived by a Russian programmer many moons ago, and since has probably seen more incarnations than any other puzzle game under the sun. Zodtris is one such incarnation built from the ground up for the Zodiac console.
There is not much to say about a simple tetris game such as Zodtris, but I will give it a go anyway.
If you want to play Tetris anywhere and everywhere with the option of listening to catchy tunes whilst you do so then Zodtris is right up your street. For a free Tetris clone it is highly polished and makes use of all the Zodiac's controls. It even rumbles when you clear a line - smart!
Both the analogue stick and the red/yellow buttons can move your pieces, this means if you do not like the control 'lag' caused by using analogue in a digital environment you can simply use the hard buttons and get a better feel for the game.
The only downside is the tiny portion of screen space Zodtris actually uses for the play area. However there is little that can be done to fix this without physically expanding the size of the play area - which would make the game harder.
If you own a Zodiac then what on earth are you waiting for? It is absolutely free, a tiny download, and something to waste hours of your life. Go and download it from the link below. PH
