DragonBall Z: The Legacy of Goku starts off with Goku on an island and everyone is chatting. Your son, Gohan, will be there and everyone will say how "cute" he looks. Then Mr. Roshie will give you a job to do. You have to find 3 magazines of porn. Once you do that and return them, you will get a senzue bean and everyone will start shouting "Oh no! This can't be happening!" Then Goku's old brother, Raditz, will mystically appear on the island. A long conversation will take place. After that, Goku's brother kidnaps Gohan and flies away. Then Piccolo appears and Krillian says "Oh no! We already have enough on our hands now Piccolo!" - Piccolo tells them that he battled him before and that he is very strong. Then Goku and Piccolo team up to save Gohan and distroy Raditz. Goku then calls his lucky Numbus! Then you will land home and you will see Chi-Chi out in the back. She will start saying "Where is my son? Goku! Do not start playing tricks!" Ignore her and then from there on, your quest begins.
The legacy of goku has many characters. The main character that you play as is Goku. Goku can learn three attacks; Solar Flair, Ki Blast and the famous Khama Hamaya. You explore different areas and in each area there are different enemies and new missions to complete. The Legacy of Goku lasts a long time. The one thing that I didn't like too much is that the game is a bit simple. It's just not hard enough for experienced gamers. However, It has great graphics! I really liked how the figures in this game are well-textured, not just big walking blocks. This game has graphics that could blow you away - some stunning areas and character models.
LOG has easy controlling, R is to change your trajectory, A is to fire, B is to kick and you control movement with the control pad. The game is easy to control and fun from the start because of the system.
The graphics are nice. They are almost as good as something on the Playstation. The characters all well detailed, coloured etc. Most objects look well rendered and detailed for a GBA game. The graphics are beefed up when you have a battle with a boss. Like Raditz for e.g. after you attack it goes into a video clip. Trust me, the clips look mint! Probably the best I have ever seen on a Gameboy game...
During the game, you can only carry a certain amount of things. 5 beans, 6 berries, and unlimited items. There is also a fly mode where you collect feathers and then you can fly to places by pressing the L button. You can't fly at any time though. You have to collect the 'Flight Wings'. You also have a Flight meter. When it's empty, that means you must go and find more Flight Wings. Flight Wings, however, are not hard to find. Once you find one, another will appear in the same spot 10-15 seconds after! Flying is really helpful when you have to fly over cliffs, and when you have to run away from a boss. To me, without the flight in this game, it becomes a boring RPG.
Usually in games after you beat the first boss, the bosses become harder and harder. Not in this game. Every boss is the same. None harder, non-easier. Even the last boss of the game - Frezza - is simple to defeat! The bosses may be easy, but a fun challenge! Sometimes they can be real easy, but sometimes they can be hard like Raditz as the first boss.
In the game, your strength is maximised out into levels. The higher the level you are, the stronger, and easier it is to defeat bosses. The highest level you can reach is 25. It's always fun to try and reach your top level by killing animals, dinosaurs etc. At the end of the game, Goku goes "SSJ 1"; only his speed increases, but his hair turns gold! It is a shame that he doesn't become stronger - but hey, what are you going to do about it?
Like mostly every game, LOG has mini video clips that roll for about a minute or so. I must say that the graphics are excellent! They are just like in the Television Shows - Really good! I really liked the clip where, after you defeat Frezza, it shows Goku bleeding and then going Super Sayian and then it shows the planet Namik explode. The FMVs are fun to watch and enjoy, this game probably has the best FMV that I have ever seen yet for a Gameboy Advance game! Well done, Webfoot Tech. JC
