Metal Gear solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is based around a character called Solid Snake a protagonist sent into the Middle East to end a crisis involving a renegade group called Outer Heaven which has amassed a military equivalent in manpower to the United States' own, and is now preparing to launch an armed revolt against the world. Metal Gear Solid 4 portrays a world where the restriction of military intervention on foreign soil has eased, leading to demands on mercenaries to fight proxy battles for business purposes, fueling the need for Private Military Contractors (PMCs) and automated weapons, called Metal Gear Rex / Ray.
The single player mode will allow a 3rd person view of Snake and also a top down switchable view. To progress through the game you must negotiate your way past obsticles without being seen or triggering nearby enemies or Metal Gears to his position. Snake will have help with a Robot Drone to help him communicate with others, and a new camoflage suit called ‘Octocamo’.
The Metal Gear Solid has had such a huge cult following since it first brought Snake to the public in 1989 that there was talk Eight months ago about all action Metal Gear Solid film. It has just been revealed that Sony Pictures Entertainment are working with the Konami-owned development house headed up by Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima to make such a film.
