The Earth is under attack from Alien Invaders and The Earth Defence Force needs you (EDF) to fight for Earth's survival against swarms of invaders. The arcade style third person shooter has us fighting huge spiders, giant ants and massive robots. At your disposal we have a huge array of vehicles such as battle tanks, mechs, attack helicoptors and bikes. Over 150 weapons such as assault rifles, flame throwers and rocket launchers are available. The environment on Earth can be destroid by either the player or the enemy, making things interesting.
In Co-Op mode Earth Defense Force allows you to team up with friend in split screen mode and use fellow NPC fighters at your disposal against the mobs. Scenary is nice allowing the player to fight in the streets, inside caves or in coastal locations. There are fifty missions to complete to keep the gameplay interesting. Loot drops from monsters include tokens which after the mission is complete will be traded for weapons, health or armour. The addictive part of the game is that you do not know which weapon you will get untill the stage is complete. Not knowing makes the missions fun, and as your character progresses with health and weapons you can effectively take on harder mobs.
What the game lacks in visuals is made up with the sheer intesity of mayhem and destruction, making this an addictive game which you will not be able to turn off.
