Killer 7 (28/04/2004)

Capcom's next big Gamecube title?

Capcom’s Gamecube barrage continues with Killer 7. Although this one may not be completely exclusive (it’ll be out for the Playstation 2 later on), it still looks like a fine addition to the Cube’s lineup.

The game is a “hardboiled action-adventure game”, in which you play Harman Smith and his seven personalities. The main goal of the game is to stop a wave of violence in the world of Heaven Smile.

One of the first things you notice immediately about Killer 7 is that it oozes style. Many games these days may be using cel shading, but Killer 7 does it in its own way. Using a unique style (and a noticeably darker touch than other games that use cel shading), Killer 7 almost looks like a comic book.

Killer 7 seems as though it will be a first person shooter, but a look at of the videos shown of the game make it seem as though there may be some third person action or adventure segments. It also seems as though there will be location based damage. Although basic info is known about all seven of the personalities you will play, it is not currently known if you will be able to switch at will, or if you will only play as a certain person in each scenario.

So far the game is looking and sounding great. It’s not yet known exactly how the game will play, but more details should be revealed as the game’s late 2004 release date approaches. CD
