Tiger Telematics’ recently launched Gizmondo handheld will be receiving a free downloadable software upgrade that will open the door for new abilities.
An upgraded Gizmondo will allow users to configure their POP3/IMAP accounts on the Gizmondo, thus enabling the ability to send and receive E-mail wirelessly using GPRS. Furthermore, the downloadable upgrade will include handy applications such as an alarm clock, currency converter and a calculator.
"These new features reinforce the Gizmondo's practicality. The emphasis will always be on entertainment, but email is such an integral part of our daily lives, adding this functionality to the device makes it an even more attractive proposition," said Carl Freer, Gizmondo’s Managing Director.
With an already massive amount of features packed in the Gizmondo, including MMS, MP3 and Digital Camera functionality, we are convinced that the Gizmondo is indeed a true multi-media device. RP
