Indie Studios to develop another GPS/GPRS based Gizmondo title.

Gizmondo Europe today announced that it had signed an agreement with Stockholm based game designer Indie Studios which will allow them both to work on "City", another Gizmondo exclusive game. Similar to 'Colors', the new game will also feature GPS/GPRS multiplayer compability to allow a quick play every now and then.

In comparison to 'Colors', which allows a long game scenario, City is a shorter in duration game "short-time game", a concept that aims to provide first-class entertainment for Gizmondo gamers in limited time situations.

"The Gizmondo is a constant companion mobile device, so it is important that we have content that engages the user even if he or she is simply taking a short bus ride or just waiting for a friend," says Mikael Åström, Acquisition Manager, Indie Studios. "I love fast action games with plenty of options. And the Gizmondo certainly has amazing capabilities. You have to remember that we're talking about next-level gaming, so it is a very exciting development."

Carl Freer, Managing Director, Gizmondo Europe adds: "There is a strong wish from gamers of all ages to have a game concept with a quicker outcome, as a complement to the more time-consuming games. You don't always have the time to play for hours on a game that never ends. But short-time games using the multifaceted offerings of the Gizmondo give users yet another choice."

The Gizmondo and City should be available worldwide on consumer electronic stores in late 2004. RP
