According to a report found at GamesIndustry.biz, the Playstation Portable should be able to play both ATRAC and MP3 audio files in its internal music player. In the past, Sony had only confirmed ATRAC as the supported audio file format.

GamesIndustry.biz also also reports that the PSP will support video playback of the H.264/AVC format, known mostly for its use with next generation DVD players. It is currently unknown, however, if the video files will be read from a Memory Stick or through standard UMD discs. RP
