Following the launch of the Playstation Portable in Japan on the 12th December, several electronic retailers in Tokyo have reportedly run out of PSP stocks within hours of its launch.
Being a tradition in Japan, a number of punters queued at night in the freezing temperature to be one of the first to pick up a PSP before it is inevitably sold out.
Seeing that just about all 200,000 units have been sold, Sony intends to ship an additional three million units before the end of its fiscal year in March 2005 and plans to release the PSP in North America as well as Europe by the 31st March 2005 – a release date hinted by Gameplay.co.uk’s pre-order scheme for the PSP. We can hardly wait anymore. RP
