Gran Turismo 4 Mobile (06/08/2004)

Gran Turismo 4 Mobile will be a direct port of the PS2 version.

In an interview posted on the official Japanese Playstation website, Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted that Gran Turismo 4 Mobile will essentially be a direct port of the PS2 version of Gran Turismo 4. Polyphony Digital, the developers responsible for the game, have mentioned that they are planning on releasing GT4 Mobile with the same amount of content featured on the PS2 version, but they are still trying to work out what needs to be done to the PS2 version to ensure it as playable on the handheld version.

"The PSP is a portable game machine, and people may think it's oriented towards playing simple games, but it really has the same hardware performance as the PS2," reckons Kazunori Yamauchi in the interview. "Since we're already developing the GT4's system on the PS2 hardware, we're planning to port that directly to the PSP."

Speaking of release dates, Yamauchi stated that Gran Turismo 4 is still 75% complete and that he is preparing the game for late 2004. It is still unclear when Gran Turismo 4 Mobile will be released. RP
