It seems that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series will never be out of favour following Konami’s recent announcement which states that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: BattleNexus will be released in Europe for the Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC in the first half of 2005.

Boasting three game modes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: BattleNexus features a ‘Story Mode’ that utilises plots from the second season of the cartoon series, and features branching missions as the players pick a path through the game. Varying objectives, special areas designed to test key skills of the Turtles – and even their skateboarding prowess - all come into play, while over 30 different forms of attack are available, with each Turtle also benefiting from moves designed specifically for their individual weapon skills.

The game's distinctive 'Antique Shop' can be used to unlock secrets by attaining various gameplay targets - perhaps seeing you fighting your way to better weapons and abilities or something entirely different! One confirmed secret, however, will be a playable version of the original Ninja Turtles arcade game which was released by Konami's arcade division in the early 90s. Not so secret anymore. Die hard fans of the series will surely enjoy playing the arcade marvel in the comfort of their own home. PH
