Metroid Prime Bonus Bundle (04/08/2004)

Nintendo to release a special Metroid Prime bonus bundle in the US.

Metroid Prime Bonus Bundle (Gamecube)Nintendo US today announced its new Gamecube bundle aimed particularly for Metroid Prime fans. The bundle will include a platinum-coloured Gamecube (with Metroid-relevant box packaging), a complete version of Metroid Prime and a playable demo for Metroid Prime's highly anticipated sequal, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. This is a true bargain considering its price, $99.99, and limited edition status.

"Other companies sell their systems starting at $150," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "No one can match Nintendo's value as we offer a Nintendo Gamecube and two free discs, all at an MSRP of just $99.99."

Metroid Prime's sequal has already built up so much interest that it's wise for Nintendo to launch its bundle pack at this stage to increase sales. The box will include such things as:

  • Playable demo for Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
  • The Metroid Chronicle which outlines the history of the Metroid series
  • Two Metroid Prime 2 Echoes trailers
  • A Metroid Prime art gallery

Unfortunately there's no plans yet to release this bundle for European territories, but Metroid Prime 2 Echoes should be out in UK stores by Christmas 2004, according to Nintendo. RP
