Ten titles ready for launch, including Ridge Racer and Super Mario 64 DS.

During the Nintendo press conference held today in Japan, it has been announced that the American launch of the Nintendo DualScreen will consist of ten launch titles, retailing for a reasonably priced $29.99 each. Thanks to the strong 3rd-party support for the DS, it is also expected that up to twenty titles will be available for the DS by the first half of 2005.

The following games - most of which will integrate DS features such as touch screen input and wireless gaming - are due for release at or soon after the launch date in the US:

  • Asphalt Urban GT (Ubisoft)
  • Feel the Magic XY/XX (Sega)
  • Madden NFL 2005 (Electronic Arts)
  • Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits (Namco)
  • Ping Pals (THQ)
  • Rayman DS (Ubisoft)
  • Ridge Racer DS (Namco)
  • Spider-Man 2 (Activision)
  • Super Mario 64 DS (Nintendo)
  • Tiger Woods 2005 (Electronic Arts)
  • The Urbz: Sims in the City (Electronic Arts)

This coupled in with the fact that the DS will come bundled with a Metroid Prime: Hunters demo and the ability to play Gameboy Advance carts right out of the box will ensure that gamers will be kept very busy during the launch period. RP
