Nintendo has announced that they’re developing an adaptor that will enable MP3 music as well as MPEG-4 video playback on both the Game Boy Advance SP and Nintendo DS.
As seen on the images, the adaptor is somewhat larger than a standard GBA cartridge and accepts SD cards for data storage. It’ll launch in Japan sometime during February and will cost 5,000 yen (roughly £25).
Though it’s a pretty good shot at bringing multimedia features to the Nintendo DS, we doubt it’ll offer the same high-quality playback seen on more purposeful multimedia devices such as the Playstation Portable. RP
