Will of Steel has just been announced as going gold. The game should be in the shops by the time you read this. A modern warfare tactical 3D RTS set in the early 1990s, WOS sets you a young Marine officer, William Steel, who must defeat various opponents in war throughout the globe.

The distinguishing feature of WOS is the fact that it has full voice recognition integration. GMX Media are keen to push this idea forwards as a way to make the game more immersive and easier to control. In fact, they claim it is possible to complete the game almost entirely with voice commands.

The concept sounds very promising. It could also be very embarrassing if the girlfriend walks in to find you screaming at your monitor…
