Flight-sim aficionados will be delighted to hear of the recently announced F/A-18: Operation Desert Storm on PC. GMX Media promise us over 1,000 square miles of satellite image-based terrain to fly over, covering Iraq, Kuwait, Iran and the Persian Gulf.

Operation Desert Storm recreates the war operation of the same name, battling the Iraqi armed forces in a number of missions. GMX assure us that the game will appeal not only to hardened flight-simmers, but also to fans of arcade action. Whether they can pull off a balance that will satisfy both parties will be interesting to find out.

Excellently, aircraft-carrier launches and landings will be included, and a multiplayer option via Internet or LAN is also promised. It all sounds very enticing, so watch out for a release gliding in to land next month!
