Rap attack!

Konami have announced that rap masters D12 will be contributing both their musical talent and their acting skills to Crime Life: Gang Wars. In-game characters have actually been modelled upon the band, so you’ll be able to sing along to their music at the same time as mowing them down with a chaingun. Maybe.

Crime Life is touted to be a cinematic, narrative-driven title, inspired by gang movies such as Boyz ‘n the Hood and New Jack City. The music, fashion, and attitude of the game are strongly crafted around urban culture, and given flavour by the contemporary Hip Hop choice of music.

The main character Tre (sic!) has a vast array of felonious activities to choose from in his criminal life throughout Grand Central City. At the same time he has to look after his ‘family’, protecting them from the clutches of other notorious criminals. The cheek of these criminal types, eh!

Maybe we will finally have a long-awaited contender to the GTA crown. Crime Life will be released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 in September. Start oiling your Uzi’s we reckon...
