Enter The Matrix sequel announced for PS2, Xbox and PC.

Atari has announced that they’ve signed the sequel to one of 2003’s best-selling games. The new game, Matrix: Path of Neo, will be released on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.

As the title of the game suggests, you’ll essentially be able to play as Neo as he undergoes the most memorable scenes from the entire movie trilogy.

The game will also feature various likenesses of the movie’s main characters, including Neo (Keanu Reeves), Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss).

"We couldn't be more thrilled to be embarking on a new Matrix project," said Jim Caparro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atari. "The Wachowski Brothers have created a universe that is uniquely deep and rich, with virtually limitless creative possibilities, and the interactive space is the ideal world in which to explore them. With The Matrix: Path of Neo, the Wachowski Brothers will be giving their legions of fans the best of everything: the first chance to personally relive Neo's journey, and the chance to experience new adventures they cannot yet even imagine."

Path of Neo isn’t due until the end of the year, but anticipation for this game is building up so fast it’s quickly becoming one of 2005’s must-have games. We’ll bring you more news as soon as it becomes available.
