Logic 3 4MB Memory Card (17/02/2004)
Options: (Print) (Send)
Store up to 4MB worth of game-saves.
Introduction

I'll try not to blabber on much as this is a Memory Card and really there's nothing interesting to say about it, but as you know Memory Cards are essential.

The Logic 3 4mb Memory Card which comes in two colours - Black & Purple. These are the two colours the Nintendo GameCube was launched as. So if you've got a Black console you'll want a Black card, that is unless your awkward or want to be original or something.

Now for the technical bit. 4mb = 59 Blocks on the Memory Card. You can determine what games will, or won't, fit on this card by looking at the back of the games box. It tells you there how many blocks it takes up. Most games take up around 2 - 10 blocks but some can take up a great deal more. Buying one of these third-party cards is great for saving a game which takes up all of, or most of, the Memory Cards blocks. Why? Because they are cheap, they do the job and you don't want to splash out loads on one single Memory Card for one game.

But even though the card is cheap, or cheap-er then the Official card it does have its drawbacks. Usually the card gets the job done, it's only on rare occasions that you get errors out of nowhere. I used this very card along with an Official one when I didn't have my 16mb card (which I strongly recommend for reliability, price etc) and out of nowhere it told me the card's data was corrupted. In other words, bye bye saved game data. I wasn't very happy after that, as you can imagine. As I said though, this is rare but it does happen, and if it does you'll get annoyed and start throwing stuff or smashing stuff or just generally be in a bad mood.

If you're not bothered about the prospect of your data being deleted, or have a very small games collection the Logic 4mb Memory Card is fine. Also, as I said earlier, if a game takes up a huge amount of space this card may be a good option for that data. Others may want to invest in a Official 4mb card which will not corrupt your data, it's a few more pounds but worth it if you don't want anything to fail. If you have loads of these small memory cards hanging around try going for a 16mb card, they are great value. JS
